After many years in the highly regulated banking and finance industries, Shredlock’s founders were extremely dissatisfied with the level of security being provided by paper shredding companies in the Australian market.

A commitment was made to extensively research overseas markets such as the United Kingdom, European Union and the United States where more than 60% of all security document destruction is carried out by professional commercial paper shredding companies.

Through this research and through membership to the international industry standards group NAID, Shredlock Australia was set up after having developed an intimate knowledge of the Privacy Standards set out by not only the Australian Government, but also the Governments of USA, United Kingdom and the EU. These Governments in particular have stringent legislation relating to the use and destruction of information by all government departments and businesses.

Shredlock has based its systems of destruction on these more stringent standards currently in place overseas and as a result currently exceeds standards required by Australian legislation.
By providing an ‘on-site’ paper shredding service the ‘chain of custody’, relating to access to your confidential documentation, is substantially reduced. As a result Shredlock is able to guarantee that confidential information does not fall into the wrong hands and security is not breached in any way.
